MECHANICAL INSPECTORS (JOB ID 01232012-MI)
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience performing civil/structural/mechanical construction inspection of major earthwork, heavy reinforced concrete structures and pipeline relating to water and wastewater infrastructures
- Must demonstrate knowledge of performing Quality Assurance inspection of infrastructures
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents
- Education: High School minimum, Associate or B.S. degree preferred
- NICET soils/concrete; ACI concrete certifications preferred
- Excellent technical writing, organizational and communication skills
- Computer skills: MS office, knowledge of Primavera is a plus
- Valid driver’s license
Job Duties
- Perform daily civil/structural/mechanical quality assurance inspection of major earthwork, heavy reinforced concrete structures and pipeline during construction at water and wastewater treatment plants
- Review of Shop Drawings
- Daily construction inspection to determine if work is proceeding in accordance with construction documents (plans and specifications)
- Coordinate civil and structural inspections and testing (concrete, soil compaction, etc) and other activities as applicable
- Maintain daily written report of observations made during construction
- Prepare progress report during construction
- Participate in weekly and monthly progress meetings.
