Howard County initiated a study, design and build at the facility to increase plant capacity while still exceeding the MDE nitrogen goal of 8 mg/l TN. Extension No. 6 at the facility was to renovate and upgrade the facility to add an additional carbon source to the BNR reactors, increase the internal recycle rate (IR) and also to increase the capacity of the plant. Upon the completion of the design, ECE provided the Construction Management team that implemented the design documents.
